EPUAP held their Annual Meeting September 13-15th, 2023, in Leeds, United Kingdom. This meeting is the foremost event sharing the latest science in Pressure Ulcer Prevention across Europe each year.
EPUAP was created in 1996 to lead and support all European countries in the efforts to prevent and treat pressure ulcers; their vision is “To provide relief for persons suffering from, or at risk of, pressure ulcers, through research and the education of the public and by influencing pressure ulcer policy in all European countries towards an adequate patient centred and cost effective pressure ulcer care.” This vision very much aligns with the Bruin Biometrics mission. Readers may be more familiar with the terms Pressure Injury, Decubitus Ulcer or Bed Sore.
Martin presented Bruin Biometrics evidence-based approaches that demonstrated the three distinct effects resulting from SEM assessments via the Provizio® SEM Scanner that enabled translating the science of SEM from the bench to the bedside: the detection effect, the treatment effect, and the prevention effect.
