Meet the Team

Appointed CEO in 2012, Martin Burns designed and led the successful journey of Bruin Biometrics” SEM Scanner through the company’s concept-to-commercialization “formulas strategy”. Significant milestones include FDA de novo Marketing Authorization (2018), CE Marking (2013) and in 2020 he negotiated a global distribution arrangement and investment with Arjo. Martins’ background is strategy and operations management consulting to large med tech companies. He earned his MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, where is a guest speaker on healthcare strategy and medical device marketing courses, and his BA from the London School of Economics.

Aryeh Goldberg joined the company in 2019 and is now serving as the Chief Operating Officer at BBI Medical Solutions, leading all commercial operations for the whole business. Previously as Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Growth for a healthcare company, he spearheaded expansion into home and community-based care and established a senior living development arm. Aryeh’s background includes management consulting roles at Deloitte Consulting, where he advised C-suite executives across various industries. Additionally, he is actively involved in philanthropic endeavors and holds leadership positions in several organizations. Aryeh holds a BS in Finance from Yeshiva University and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Colin Priestley, Chief Commercial Officer at Bruin Biometrics, LLC was appointed in 2015. Colin brings over 30 years of experience in the healthcare marketplace, specializing in the medical device sector. His expertise spans various domains, including clinical application of medical devices, diagnostic imaging, cardiology, and wound care settings, across global corporate and SME companies in the UK, Europe, and USA.

Kate Hancock joined the company in 2018 and is now Executive Vice President, External Communications at Bruin Biometrics LLC, having previously led Medical Affairs, Marketing and Product Management. Kate is a former Registered General Nurse in the UK, specializing in Intensive Care Nursing. Kate has spent the past 30 years in the Medical Device Industry focused on upstream Marketing and Product Management with 3 large multinationals in the medical device segment prior to joining Bruin Biometrics. Outside of her work life, Kate lives in the UK and enjoys gardening, walking, and motorbiking with her husband.

Bill Caprio is Managing Director of Bruin Biometrics LLC, having joined in 2020. Before joining Bruin Biometrics, he held leadership positions including Vice President Outsourced Operations and Vice President New Product Development of a large wound care organization. Bill has served in various new product development & manufacturing roles and served as an Officer in the US Army. He received his B.S. in Engineering at the United States Military Academy, West Point, and his MBA at the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester.

Kathy Beres, who joined Bruin Biometrics LLC as Controller in 2019 and was recently promoted to VP, Finance & Accounting, has exhibited outstanding leadership and financial expertise. Her efforts in optimizing financial operations and implementing cost-saving measures have been pivotal for the company. With a background in public accounting and specialization in start-ups, particularly in the SaaS and Med Device sectors, Kathryn brings extensive experience in guiding companies toward financial management success. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Claremont McKenna College, and serves as treasurer for charitable foundations, showcasing her commitment to philanthropy.
