We are delighted to announce the Provizio ® SEM Scanner Single-Use-Sensors are now also available on the Scottish Drug Tariff, following on from being made available on the England and Wales Drug Tariffs earlier in 2022.
The Provizio ® SEM Scanner Single-Use-Sensors are included on Scottish Drug Tariff from September 2022, under Part 3, Appliances. The sensors were also included on NHS England and Wales Drugs Tariff from August 2022.
To achieve Drug Tariff listing technologies must demonstrate safety, quality, a positive impact on patient outcomes as well as on the ability to reduce total costs within the patient pathway.
This addition plays a crucial role in ensuring Community Healthcare Professionals have the option of prescribing Provizio ® SEM Scanner Single-Use-Sensors when scanning patients in their own home to support pressure ulcer prevention.
Provizio ® SEM Scanner has been proven to help reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers1,2 and has been reported to be cost effective3.
The Scottish Drug Tariff is published for and on behalf of the Public Health Scotland. The Tariff contains information regarding the prescribing, dispensing and reimbursement of medicines and appliances on primary care NHS prescriptions. Public Health Scotland is Scotland’s lead national agency for improving and protecting the health and well-being of all of Scotland’s people.
