It’s been a wonderful 2024 at Bruin Biometrics, we thought it would be great to do a review of all the highlights that have happened.
Starting with the launch of our Pressure Injury Prevention Personal Assistant, PIPPA™, elevating the Provizio® SEM Scanner to new heights with this cloud-based software. Look out for what else is to come in 2025 with PIPPA!

Over the years a significant amount of clinical research that has been performed on sub-epidermal moisture assessment. In the past 3 years a paper has been published every 45 days on the topic. It’s great to be part of such an active research community.
A significant milestone for pressure injury prevention with CMS acknowledging the critical role of sub-epidermal moisture (SEM) assessment by establishing the ICD-10 procedure code XX2KXP9. A significant step towards improving patient care with the support of reimbursement.
2024 was a real growth year in Provizio SEM Scanner usage across the US and around the world! We have now exceeded over 1 million patients scanned, which is simply amazing. This works out at ~50,000 reportable pressure injuries being prevented. We can’t wait to see how this number develops over 2025 and beyond
